During their third masterclass at the Creative Strings Workshop, the group worked with cellists Marcelo Vieira and Mike Block. They worked on vocalization and improvisation.
During their second masterclass at the Creative Strings Workshop, the group worked with Alex Hargreaves. They learned the song Stoney Lonesome at the workshop.
During their first masterclass at the Creative Strings Workshop, the group worked with Duncan Wickel and learned "The Leading Role" - a great fiddle tune.
Fiddlers ReStrung playing at Ely Park in the small town of Hartford, Michigan on a super hot day in southern Michigan. With the group playing under the pavilion and the crowd under trees across the park - it was not a normal gig. This concert was sponsored by the Hartford Public Library, which is located in a beautiful old house in town.
This was indeed Paradise - the end of a long tour that saw the group touch all five Great Lakes and Perform 11 concerts in 13 days. All in all - a great trip.
Great way to end the tour - with a visit to Paradise.
ReStrung drew a crowd of 70 at this last stop on our tour. In a town of 500 - we were very happy. It was also Josh Herter's last gig which was a nice way to send him off. The venue was stunning, on the bluffs overlooking Whitefish Bay and Lake Superior.
Near where we had our picnic (thanks again to the Mason County Public Library for that wonderful feast) - we got to view and tour the Ludington North Breakwater Light.
Beautiful lighthouse in Goderich, Ontario. Mr. Wright and I paid this a visit when the group was learning a new tune in the hotel and there was a break in the weather.
On July 6th, ReStrung visited the beach at Lake Michigan in Manistee at sunset. They proceeded to get more wet than they were expecting, and had fun with the arrival of the Lake Freighter Manistee. The spotlight from the Manistee gave everyone a great deal of fun.

Fiddlers ReStrung playing at the Hart Area Public Library on Friday July 7th at 7pm. This concert was supposed to be outdoors, but the chance of rain and the very warm temperatures moved the 150+ attendees inside into every corner of this beautiful library. The tight confines did not dampen the enthusiasm of this great audience, though one elderly person commented that she wanted to cut Mickey's hair! This was the second performance for ReStrung that day - having earlier played in Ludington, Michigan. This was the 9th concert on the Waterbound Tour and the first of two on July 7th.
Fiddlers ReStrung playing at the Cheboygan Area Public Library on Thursday July 8th (at 7pm) during their Waterbound Tour. With the possibility of bad weather, the decision was made to have the concert indoors in the library's program space. Around 200 people crammed into the room (including the adjacent kitchen) for a great concert. And with the day being a bit on the warm side - it was nice to have it in Air Conditioning. This was the 10th concert on the Waterbound Tour and all in all, and excellent show.
Fiddlers ReStrung playing at the Ludington Area Center for the Arts on Friday July 7th at 1pm. This concert was co-sponsored by the Ludington Area Center for the Arts and the Mason County Public Library. Over 200 people watched the concert at the Area Center for the Arts on this warm day in Western Michigan. Morning rains did not cut the humidity and it was a bit muggy for the afternoon show. After the performance, the Mason County District Library provided an amazing picnic lunch for the performers at the beach in Ludington that was just wonderful!
This was the 8th concert on the Waterbound Tour and the first of two on July 7th.
On July 4th - ReStrung visited Brandywine Falls at the Cuyahoga Valley National Park in Northfield, Ohio. Though it was a hot muggy day - we found nice relief in the shadded and short walk to the falls.
Here is the group from the other side of the falls:
Here are photos from ReStrung's performance at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame! Very cool museum and the group had a great time. Most of the crowd for the concert either was above the group - looking down from a balcony or passing through.
Here is a video from their second masterclass at the Creative Strings Workshop in Westerville, Ohio, this time with Alex Hargraves. The taught them Stoney Lonesome from Bill Monroe.
On our way to Erie - we stopped by the Cave of the Winds and got to walk on the decking at the base of the falls. Lots of fun and highly enjoyed by all. Sure - we got wet - but that is OK!
During their first masterclass at the Creative Strings Workshop, the group worked with Duncan Wickel and learned "The Leading Role" - a great fiddle tune.
Here are some great photos from London. It started out as a beautiful day and we got 35 minutes into the set when the clouds opened up. Oh well...we still had around 150 people in the gardens taking in the great show.
